Micole R Washington, MSW
“I received my Master of Social Work degree from Southern University at New Orleans in May 2003. I have worked with many populations including troubled youth, teenage parents and the homeless. In 2004, I realized my true professional calling to work with the elderly and persons with disabilities. This population is very dear to my heart. My elderly mother needed services and there was no one around to help, so I stepped in as her caretaker. Today she is receiving the care she so desperately requires. Through assisting my mother, I realized that there are other elderly in this same situation. As the director of A+ People Services, I enjoy providing services and advocating on behalf of this underserved population.”

“As a former basketball coach turned advocate on behalf of children and adults with disabilities. It is due to the innate spirit and instilled level of commitment from sports that led me to social work. I have experience as an at-risk counselor, mentor, family service coordinator and now the director of A+ People Services, a provider agency. It is my goals to provide a positive attitude toward people with disabilities.”
